Zabadoo is a four-level course that is designed to follow on from the two-level introductory series, Zap! Together, the six levels take children who have just started English right up to the end of primary school. The upper levels of the course give a greater emphasis on reading and writing. Zabadoo features engaging characters such as Zabadoo the genie, Bob the fish and Olly the octopus, who present English through stories, songs and written activities. An entertaining comic strip works as a gentle and motivating introduction to reading in English. Listening, reading and writing activities, as well as games pages and cut-outs, reinforce learning and the course is further enriched by songs from Carolyn Graham. At each level, life in Britain is presented through the eyes of a ten-year-old British boy in Will's website. This gives children opportunities for cross-cultural comparisons with life in their own country. Simple class plays to perform at Christmas and at the end of the school year give pupils further opportunities for practising language. This teacher's book provides a clear guide to the aims, objectives and methodology of the course, along with comprehensive teaching notes.
